Every Tuesday in September I’ll be giving a series of fashion lectures at Chatswood Chase Sydney. Come along and spend an hour, as we delve into the history and stories of those fashion items we obsess over.

It all starts on Tuesday 4 September with “Beyond the Little Black Dress”, a look at Chanel’s legacy and influences. On Tuesday 11 September it’s “Well heeled – shoes through time”, examining our love of shoes and their rise as symbols of power. From flats and the birth of the stiletto to trainers and Crocs. And why they don’t call them “killer heels” for nothing! On Tuesday 18 September it’s all about accessories, with “The Finishing Touch” – from the must-have handbags that had 5 year wait-lists, to the iconic sunnies worn by Jackie O and that lobster hat worn by Lady Gaga. The final talk on Tuesday 25 September is “Material Girl – Baubles, bangles & bling” – from the designs of Cartier to Art Deco, Bakelite and costume jewellery.

Join me each Tuesday in September at 11am at Chatswood Chase Sydney. The talks are free, but booking is essential. Head to the Chatswood Chase Sydney website What’s On page and look for the fashion Lecture Series to book tix.
