SHANGHAI & HONG KONG : ART DECO TO ART NOW
Come away with me! In April 2019 I’m taking a group to Shanghai and Hong Kong to explore a world of contemporary art, design and culture and the wonderful Art Deco legacy that still exists in Shanghai. Art Deco gems like the Peace Hotel date back to 1929. So there’s a wonderful mix of Deco decades, with apartment buildings with zig zag ornamentation peeking out from a maze of over head wires. Contrasted with the 21st century skyscrapers of Pudong. Check out the Art Deco to Art Now Shanghai and Hong Kong itinerary at renaissancetours.com.au

CHINA : ART DECO TO ART NOW

In October 2015 Claudia led a 12 day tour to Beijing and Shanghai China : Art Deco to Art Now, which explored China’s fascinating Imperial past and booming contemporary art scene. In Shanghai, the focus of the tour turned to the city’s rich heritage of Art Deco architecture.

MIAMI & CUBA : ART DECO TO ART NOW

Continuing the Art Deco to Art Now series Claudia will embark on her next adventure, Miami and Cuba : Art Deco to Art Now (21 April – 6 May 2017).

Beginning in Miami to explore its vibrant art deco heritage, Claudia then takes you to Cuba, famous for its rich historical heritage, dramatic landscapes and passion for music and art.

Its exotic cities are graced by a distinctive mixture of architectural styles, from Colonial to Baroque, Neoclassical to Art Deco and Modernism to Post-Modernism. Cuba’s love affair with music is legendary and art lovers are also waking up to Cuba’s long tradition of visual arts, from pre-revolutionary modernism to contemporary.

Cuba has a fabulous patina. It’s like an Aladdin’s lamp. Rub it gently and the genie will emerge. Rub it too much and it will become too shiny. Post-revolutionary Cuba is about to change forever. Curious? Check out the itinerary at http://renaissancetours.com.au/tours/art/cuba-art-deco-to-art-now/
